Our Plan

A comprehensive strategy for the May 8th action and our campaign to demand accountability from ICE and CBP.

In preparation for the demonstration sit-in:

  • We will prepare a pamphlet describing the planned event and list of demands.
  • Prepare a detailed letter to the local ICE and CBP office with list of demands, along with a request to meet and have a dialogue with ICE leadership.
  • Engage with media throughout the process, including sharing copies of the letter sent to ICE, efforts to meet directly with ICE leadership, and immediately prior to the May 8th action.
  • Engage with local activists and groups throughout Vermont to participate in the action.
  • Organize a series of nonviolent direct action trainings throughout the state.
  • Reach out to local police about specifics of the May 8th event.
  • Organize and train individuals to serve as Peacekeepers.
  • Form legal team.

  • February – initiate outreach efforts to engage local groups and organizations
  • March/April – initiate public outreach and media campaign; hold nonviolent direct action trainings; send letter to ICE leadership
